MCP Model context protocol

Enable AI applications to connect external tools, data, and workflows in a unified way.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard used to connect AI applications with external systems, and can be understood as a universal interface for AI applications.

An MCP service can provide tools, resources, and prompt templates. For example, after obtaining the appropriate permissions, AI applications can read project data, query databases, or call existing business services.

MCP specifies the way information is connected and exchanged; it is not a language model itself and does not automatically grant access to all systems. Which data can be read and which operations can be performed are still determined by the permission controls of the service and application.

Relationship with the Baiyun community

In Baiyun's practice, connecting existing systems is often more useful than rebuilding a new process. MCP is a connectivity method worth discussing; whether to adopt it depends on actual needs and existing systems.
