Using the analogy of opening a store, I learned about Linux, Nginx, PHP, and MySQL, and understood software versions and their operating status.

The tech stack is not a formula to memorize

The tech stack (a set of technologies and software that makes a website work) can be understood as the space, receptionists, processing staff, and documentation cabinets a small shop needs. A WordPress site is not just an image; it needs someone to access it, execute the program, and read the article. A common environment in this course is called LNMP: Linux system, Nginx website service, MySQL database, and PHP program running tools. There are also combinations using Apache or MariaDB. By understanding their respective uses, you can understand what AI is preparing.

What do the four roles do?

  • Linux: The system used by the server; Ubuntu is one of them, like the basic premises for a store.
  • Nginx: Receives browser requests, sends web resources, and can also delegate requests to other programs, such as the reception window.
  • PHP: The main programming language used by WordPress, which the server executes through corresponding running tools, like a person processing orders step by step.
  • MySQL or MariaDB: Software for saving and querying articles, accounts, settings, etc., such as a data cabinet with categorization and search functions.

Browsers often encounter HTML (webpage content structure), CSS (style control rules), and JavaScript (programs that interact with the page). They have their own uses alongside PHP on the server; installing more names doesn't necessarily mean better performance.

What is the version, and why should we watch?

The version number (the number that distinguishes how many times the software was released or modified) helps determine compatibility. Themes, plugins, and the combination of WordPress and PHP may have requirements; "Latest" does not necessarily mean it is compatible with existing components. Let AI first verify the actual installed version and project requirements before scheduling updates. As of the time of writing, WordPress officially recommends PHP 8.3 or above, MySQL 8.0 or above, or MariaDB 10.11 or above, and supports HTTPS. Afterwards Official operational requirements As a rule, beginners won't copy an old version sheet long-term.

Installing and running are not the same thing

The software is installed, and the documentation and configuration are in place; The service is running, indicating it can work at this moment. You can view it in Baota Software Management or Service Status. When the database is not running, the website may prompt that the connection to the database failed; If PHP is configured incorrectly, web pages may also show errors.

Please list the Nginx, PHP, database, and WordPress versions required for this website, explaining their respective purposes. Check whether it is installed, running, and compatible with the theme plugin you want to use. Do not reinstall or change the environment of existing sites.

Let AI write the information into a simple spreadsheet, and you can check the name and status on the panel.

Beginners often get confused about something

The database version and the article inside the database are not the same thing; Switching PHP versions is not editing the article. Multiple websites on a single server may share certain services, and stopping it could affect other sites. For first-time site setup, only install the software needed for the current project. Leave out services without a clear purpose; Before significant environmental changes, explain the impact and recovery methods.

Once you learn it, you should be able to say this sentence

"My blog is on an Ubuntu server, accessed using Nginx, running WordPress with PHP, and using data storage for articles and settings; I can check them inside the pagoda. "Being able to say this clearly is enough to continue the course; writing PHP or managing database statements is not required now.

The software menu and version may change, so let the AI compare it with the interface you actually see.

Once you've learned it, give it a try.
